Opening in 2013
This year the Open Gardens made £1670 for the NGS, including £215 worth of plants, a very impressive sum considering the torrential rain that was endured for much of the afternoon.
The teas made £484 which will be divided equally between St. Michael's Church and the Village Hall.
Last year the total raised by us for the NGS was £1285 but the entry fee was raised to £5 this year after being at £4 for many years.
Congratulations to all who opened their beautiful gardens and thanks to all those that helped with the day.
NGS donated £2.6 million pounds last year to it's charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Help the Hospices among others.
Details of all gardens open in England and Wales can be found in the Yellow book.
The village now has a gardening club with meetings in the village hall on the fourth Wednesday evening of the month.
